Wedding videography is whereby; special wedding moments are captured on video to be able to be revisited for years to come. The bride and groom can decide whether they want to have their entire wedding filmed or just key moments like the cutting of the cake. Wedding videography has become as popular as wedding photography. Wedding videography is arguably better, because it is better able to remind the viewers of the moments and feelings of the day, than photographs.
People with limited budgets can have a family member to use a home video camera to capture the special day. Those with bigger budgets can hire the services of professional videographers. This will guarantee better quality videos and production. The images and sound are much clearer. This is because the videographers use special cameras and they are also skilled in using the different features of the camera in order to perfectly capture the day. Home video cameras were first developed in the 1980’s and since then people have been using these for special occasions to save their memories of that day. These personal video cameras are called camcorders. Before that, only the rich and famous would afford having their weddings videotaped. But the camcorders made it possible for every day people to record their weddings on film and not just in photographs.
Wedding videography has since rapidly grown and developed, so much so that many people now select this as a career path. Many of these people enjoy being artistic and sometimes also do photography. When professional videographers first started working they did not have the high quality cameras that they have now. The images captured on video were of poor quality, and so was the sound. These cameras only produced good images in bright lighting and only had single channel audio. These cameras were also very bulky and had many wires, so the videographer would struggle to move around and keep up with the happenings of the wedding. Very few of the final videos would have any editing at all. During this time a lot of people complained that the videography would have to interfere with many of the events at the wedding to be able to capture them properly. For this reason many brides and grooms opted not to have videos of their wedding made. The bright lights that were needed ruined the atmosphere of the day as they were like hospital lights.
But now there are many professional video cameras available in the market. The improvements to the industry began in the early 1990’s. This is because manufacturers of video cameras began to produce better quality professional cameras and personal camcorders. Then in the mid 1990’s the producers began making digital cameras with improved quality in terms of images and audio. These cameras are smaller so they are easier to carry around. They do not need the bright lights which hamper the atmosphere of the event. They did not require lots of wires and cables. This has made it much easier for the videographers to capture the day without interfering in the festivities. Wedding videographers usually charge their fees by the hour needed. They are able to edit the videos to provide the best memories for their clients. There is now special software that is used to perfectly edit the moments. When looking to hire a professional videographer one has to ensure that they have experience to ensure that the day is perfectly captured as it cannot be redone and repeated. One does not want to lose those special moments because of negligence and incompetence.
